This policy covers the personal information we handle through this website, over the telephone and by email. What personal information we collect
Through the quote form we collect the name, telephone number, email address and property address you enter, together with your description of the work and any photographs you attach. When you call or email us, we keep what you tell us about the property and the job. Our website host also records ordinary technical information such as the network address a visit comes from, the pages opened and the device and browser used. We do not ask for financial details on this website.
Why we collect it
We use your information to answer your enquiry, to prepare a quote, to arrange a site visit, to carry out and invoice work you hire us for, and to stay in touch about a job while it is running. We also keep our own record of what was agreed and what was done. We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent or trade contact lists.
Consent and how to withdraw it
Sending the form, calling or emailing is how you consent to us using your details for the purpose you got in touch about. If we ever want to use them for something else, we ask you first. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the address above or emailing us, and we will stop using your information for anything beyond what the law or an open contract still requires of us.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept only while they are still of use to the enquiry itself, and are deleted after that. Records tied to work we carried out are held for as long as we need them to answer questions about that work and to meet our tax and legal obligations, and are then destroyed.
Who your information is shared with
Your information stays with us apart from a few necessary cases. Suppliers and subtrades on your job receive what they need to do their part, such as the address and the scope, and nothing further. Providers who run our website, our email and our bookkeeping handle information on our behalf and are required to protect it. We also release information where the law requires it, for example to a permit or inspection authority, or under a court order. Nobody receives your details for their own marketing.

This website uses cookies, which are small files your browser stores. Some are needed for the site to work and to keep the quote form secure. Others let us see, in aggregate, how people find the site and which pages they read, so we can make it more useful. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave oddly.
Seeing and correcting your information
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, why we hold it and who it has been given to. Write to us and we will reply within the time the law allows, and if there is something we cannot give you we will explain the reason. Where a detail is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
How we protect it
Enquiries sent through this site travel over an encrypted connection. Access to our files and our inbox is limited to the people who need them for the job, and paper records are kept out of public areas. No way of storing or sending information can honestly be called perfectly secure, so we collect what we need and no more.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first. Write to us with what happened and we will look into it and come back to you with what we found and what we are doing about it. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take the matter to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees the federal private sector privacy law and can be reached through its own website.
